Assume Pole Position with Open Wheel Races Bonuses in GTA Online

Hop in behind the wheel and earn triple rewards, as well as a free outfit, with Open Wheel Races in GTA Online this week.

Few things are as thrilling as zipping across the finish line in a vehicle that closer resembles a plane with four smooth wheels than a car, and the latest round of bonuses in GTA Online feed right into that need for speed. Whenever you aren’t busy going nyoooom you can also take advantage of some discounts, giveaways and other non-F1 bonuses.

Open Wheel Races, the legally-distinct facsimile of Formula One in the Grand Theft Auto world, are paying out not double but triple the usual GTA$ and RP all week long. Grab your helmet and pray your pit crew is up to snuff as you burn rubber for extra rewards through the 8th of May. Alongside the bonuses, completing 3 OWRs will get you a one-time GTA$100,000 reward and the Rockstar Racing Suit for free.

While the real-world cost of F1 cars are tightly kept trade secrets, they’re estimated to run up to around $15 million, while in-game a Progen PR4 will set you back GTA$ 3.5 million – if you’d feel nervous repeated crashing something that valuable, maybe stick to RC Bandito Races, where the stakes are a lot lower, but the same 3X GTA$ and RP bonus applies.

Go small or go home.

Some of the greatest and most skilled drivers are, by a cruel twist of fate, stuck in a yellow cab instead of a top-line racing machine (there are several movies specifically about this) – if you want to play out your own rags-to-riches story in Grand Theft Auto Online, jump into Taxi Work, which pays out 4 times the usual GTA$ reward this week. Ironically, this potentially makes it more lucrative than the Open Wheel Races…

Cars also form the backbone of a number of other offers and discounts this week:

  • Luxury Autos Showroom
    • Gallivanter Baller ST-D (SUV)
    • Declasse Vigero ZX Convertible (Muscle)
  • Hao’s Special Works
    • Karin Vivanite (SUV)
  • LS Car Meet
    • Willard Eudora (Muscle)
    • Grotti Stinger (Sports Classic, 30% off)
    • Pegassi Infernus (Super)
    • Albany Alpha (Sports)
  • Diamond Casino & Resort
    • Benefactor BR8 (Open Wheel)
  • Salvage Yard Robbery Targets
    • Grotti Itali GTO Stinger TT (Sports)
    • Vapid Dominator GTT (Muscle)
    • Dinka Blista Kanjo (Compact)

Among the discount offerings, most interesting are the appropriately featured Open Wheel vehicles – the Progen PR4, the Declasse DR1 and the Ocelot R88 are all 40% off. Alongside a smattering of cars, you can also take to the skies and seas with vehicles such as the FH-1 Hunter, Sea Sparrow or Shitzu Squalo, all 30% off.

Ready, set, go!

I want that racing outfit. I like that it is basically all black and just Rockstar labeled. So I have to do 3 races and I get it? Sounds easy enough!

That is a nice bonus for just participating in a few races. $100,000 plus a new race suit makes it more than worth it even if you don't like these races. I personally don't but I will be playing for these bonuses.

That is from people doing it just to get the 100k and outfit. I normally don't do these races and did them for the free stuff and I suck. Maybe I was one of the ones that drove like crap in one of your races lmao

I've tried open wheel races before, where there was no bonus, and sadly it was almost as bad as yesterday.

well there is a difference between being a crap driver and turn into people on purpose to not get overtaken.

The "racetracks" suck though, as an old simracer i'll rater do 70 laps on Monaco 😆
