GTA 5 cheats and codes can unlock all weapons, let you change your wanted level, and give you other kinds of other power-ups in the game like invincibility, flaming ammo, and super jump.

To use GTA 5 cheats on PlayStation (PS5, PS4, PS3) and Xbox (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox 360) enter the codes using your controller, or by dialling the numbers listed into your in-game cellphone. For PC, you can either use the cellphone or type the codes into the game’s console (bring that up with the tilde key ~).

Using any cheats in GTA 5 will disable Achievements and Trophies for the rest of your session, so always save your game before using them. To start earning rewards again you’ll need to reload your last save – you can’t just disable your cheats (by entering the same code again) and then carry on playing. The cheats also only work in GTA 5’s story mode.

Expanded & Enhanced Cheats

These additional cheats only work in newer versions of GTA 5 (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC). Also, unlike all the other cheats above, you need to unlock each vehicle first by doing a random event, and only then can you spawn it with a cheat code.

  • Spawn Duke O’Death

    : Dial 1-999-3328-4227 (1-999-DEATHCAR)
    Finish the “Duel” random event to unlock it by stealing the Duke located around the gas station near Route 68, close to the LSC garage. Then get rid of the guys that chase you.

  • Spawn Kraken Sub

    : Dial 1-999-282-2537 (1-999-BUBBLES)
    Do the “Wildlife Photography Challenge” first to unlock it. You need to take pictures (using the Snapmatic) of all 20 different kinds of animals that exist in GTA 5.

  • Spawn Dodo Airplane

    : Dial 1-999-398-4628 (1-999-EXTINCT)
    Complete the “Sea Plane” random event to unlock it by heading over to the area that is just to the East of the Alternate Farms (RON Winds). You’ll find a mountainside cove there and can begin the event.

  • Director Mode

    : Dial 1-999-57-825368 (1-999-JR-TALENT)
    Director mode basically lets you direct the action in GTA 5 using a number of different characters, locations and other cheats. More info here.

How-to Enter GTA 5 Cheats

GTA 5 cheat codes are simple to activate once you know the steps:

  1. Save your game.
  2. Pick a cheat code from our list above.
  3. Enter the code during gameplay:
    1. PlayStation / Xbox: press the button combo using your controller.
    2. PC: Open the console (press the ~ key) and type the cheat code.
  4. Re-enter the same code again if you want to deactivate the cheat.

To use the cell phone method, bring out your phone, go to your contacts and press either SQUARE on PlayStation, X on Xbox, or SPACEBAR or MIDDLEMOUSEBUTTON on PC. The dialpad will popup. Then just enter in the number code for the cheat and press the same button again to dial/activate it.

How-to Disable GTA 5 Cheats

To disable or turn off a cheat that you have activated, simply enter the cheat code / button combo for it again. For cheats that have progressive effects (like the weather cheat or slow motion aim), you might need to enter the code again multiple times to cycle through all the different effects until you get to the one that disables the cheat.

Okay so I thought I would ask this here. I don't play on PS so I don't know the issue but my younger bro tries to get cheats going and says if he does one cheat, he can't do another. Don't they stack? At least for the most part? I never had an issue like this.

Some cheats get canceled out by others but a lot of them stack and you can have most of them going at the same time. Just consider which are being used. GTA SA had better cheats for this kind of stuff and allowed for more variety. Like one example is giving everyone a gun and putting chaos mode on.

This is what I loved about SA, the cheat codes were a blast! This was one of my favorite combos. GTA 5 has some good ones but they felt lack luster when you go back and play SA.

I don't know if anyone knows this here but in terms of stacking the same cheat, which ones can you do over and over again to increase or decrease the result? An example of one I know of is the slow-down aim cheat. You can stack this 4 times.

Anything that alters speed and distance I believe. I don't mess around with cheats all that often.

On a side note. I was trying to make it so you can disable the cops but the cheat doesn't seem to last or be permanent. I was just trying to mess with some different explosives but I wanted to make it so I wouldn't get a wanted level. I can only lower it but not actually "suspend" it. Am I overlooking the cheat or something?

There isn't a cheat to disable the cops. Just to remove wanted levels. And even if you keep doing it, it just ends up building back up which is annoying. Isn't there a "God mode" to prevent damage though?

Drunk mode with fast speeds always gives me a laugh. I don't think you can notice it as much in swimming but it is still a lot of fun when you want to just screw around with the cheats.

Is there a code for making it so cars can fly? I know the one variation of the car can fly. I can't remember what it is called but I mean standard cars and bikes that otherwise can't. Anything like this?

The supposed "god move" always felt weak to me. Putting it on a timer like that. It should be something you turn on and off like all other games that allow for such a cheat. Maybe they will change this for GTA 6.

LEAVEMEALONE was the best cheat back in Vice City. IDK why they didn't keep it in all GTA games moving forward.

In San Andreas there was, not in GTA 6. I checked! lol

I think we got some good ones but compared to other GTA titles, the cheat list just felt underwhelming overall. Or is that just me? Like for real, I played around with cheats in past games and has way more fun with it.

It isn't just you. There were a lot of cheats that should have been included. A lot of people speculated that they were originally part of the game but had a high chance of breaking/crashing the game so they removed them.

So I have to ask... When you dial " 199946844557 " into your phone, does it actually trigger a cheat code for getting money? I saw it a few times floating around online but when I did try it, nothing seemed to happen for me. You are meant to get a lot of money.

Supposedly, if you complete the story, you get a large sum of money. I never completed the game so never bothered with the cheat. If you didn't finish the game, it wouldn't work.

What does the cheat Skyfall do exactly? I might be overlooking descriptions of them but I am not seeing anything about it. Most seem self explanatory but I am not sure what this one is.
