Grand Theft Auto 5 Expanded & Enhanced Out Now

Grand Theft Auto 5 Expanded & Enhanced is now available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with graphical upgrades, technical improvements, and new content that takes advantage of modern hardware. The new experience is now available digitally from each console’s respective webstores.

GTA 5’s next-gen port also introduces the significant change of separating GTA Online into a separate experience. Although purchasing Expanded and Enhanced still grants you Online access, fans can also purchase the multiplayer experience separately for a lower price. It is free to keep on PlayStation 5 for the next three months.
Changes include significant graphical improvements that take advantage of the stronger hardware available with current-generation consoles. You can choose what gets prioritised with various graphical option presets, but even on the performance setting, the game will look much nicer than previous versions. Textures, effects, prop density, and other aspects have all been improved.
This release also includes a slew of technical improvements, such as significantly faster loading times on both platforms (resolving a long-standing issue with the game), immersive controls that make use of the DualSense and Xbox controllers’ feedback systems, and 3D audio.
GTA Online also received a minor content update in the form of Hao’s Special Works, a new addition to the LS Car Meet area. This is the first piece of GTA Online content that is only available in Expanded and Enhanced, and it includes new races, time trials, five new vehicles, and a slew of powerful new upgrades and customizations. Completing the initial time trail unlocks Hao’s Special Works.
Players who transfer their characters from the previous version of GTA Online will receive a free HSW-upgraded Karin S95, Dark Purple Pearl, and Red Prismatic Pearl Chameleon Paints.
New and returning players will also have access to the Career Builder, a new feature in GTA Online designed to help you catch up with 8 years of DLC by allowing you to unlock a business right away and providing you with a starting boost with cash, vehicles, and other amenities.
