GTA Online Yeti Hunt: Unlock the Yeti Outfit With These Clue Locations

Here's where you can find the five clues to unlock the new Yeti outfit in GTA Online.

In GTA Online, you can go on a Yeti Hunt, finding clues and eventually hunting it down to unlock a free white Yeti outfit. All the clues are located in the Raton Canyon and Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness. You earn 1,000 RP and $10,000 cash for each clue. You also earn $50,000 extra when you kill the Yeti. So, in total, you can earn 5,000 RP and $100,000, plus the Yeti outfit of course.

The clue and Yeti hunting area won’t appear on your map by default though, you must first get closer to the area. Then, once you’ve got all five clues, you must stay inside the hunting area between 9 PM and 6 AM for the Yeti to spawn.

You can collect these clues in any order, but must not be waiting in a vehicle when the Yeti is meant to spawn.

While it is the festive season, remember to also grab the Snowman outfit.

How to start the Yeti Hunt

Go to the Raton Canyon and Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness to start the hunt. As you get close to the area, you will get a message from Tanner about a strange creature roaming the woods.

The white highlighted area with a ‘?’ will also appear on the map, as shown below. This is where you will find the clues and hunt the Yeti.

Clue Sound

It is also worth noting that you will hear a unique “throbbing” drum sound whenever you’re near any clue. This sound tells you that you’re near a clue.

When you get close to a clue, you will get an option to investigate it. Upon successful investigation, you will “collect” the clue.

Clue #1

The first clue is a deer corpse near a river with claw marks.

Clue #2

The second clue is some human body parts near a broken tree.

Clue #3

The third clue is a car wreck near a bridge.

Clue #4

The fourth clue is a bloodied tent on a small mound.

Clue #5

The fifth clue is a torn shirt by a sewage tunnel and an old car wreck.

Spawning the Yeti

Once you’ve collected all five clues, you must stay inside the white highlighted area between 9 PM and 6 AM (21:00 to 06:00 in-game time) for the Yeti to spawn.

You will get a message to return and continue your search for an unknown creature at night time.

The Yeti will instantly spawn if you collect your fifth clue between 9 PM and 6 AM. But if it doesn’t, just walk around the area, and it will eventually spawn. It will be indicated by a red skull on your minimap.

If it is not time, return to the white highlighted area at 9 PM (21:00 in-game time), and the Yeti will spawn. Ensure you’re not inside any vehicle, or it might not spawn.

If the Yeti manages to kill you, return to the same area, and it will respawn. It will continue to spawn between 9 PM and 6 AM until you’ve finally killed it.

The Yeti has a lot of health. We recommend you use a strong weapon such as a shotgun or explosives. RPG shots also work well.

Rewards

As mentioned earlier, you will earn 5,000 RP and $100,000 for fully completing this free roam event. On top of that, you will also score the free white Yeti outfit.

You can access the outfit by going to Outfits: Festive category of Outfits in your wardrobe.

If you haven’t already, remember to grab the secret Snowman outfit during the festive season. These outfit events only return during the winter holidays, so you may not be able to get the Snowman (or the Yeti) outfit until next year!
