A new gameplay mechanic for GTA 6?

I guess some people went back and looked at the old footage from the leak that happened in 2022 to figure out the controller inputs for the game. The group ended up finding details that seem to suggest we will be able to actually crawl for the first time ever in GTA! This will come in handy for stealth and evading police I would imagine. Pressing down the left trigger would make the character crouch but long pressing would result in a crawling formation on the ground.

If they are adding this kind of stealth mechanic to the game, I would imagine heists will be back and a heck of a lot more fun! That is the one way to play them that I absolutely love, sneaking around and going full stealth. Takes me back to the classic stealth games like MGS.

Stealth must be a bigger thing in GTA 6 then if this is the case. I always wondered why they did not have this in the game, at least not in the most recent ones because of how you actually do crime in the games lol

I had thought it was in RDR 2 for some reason but it wasn't BUT I did find a mod for it in case anyone was wondering what it may look like:

Not something I can ever say I asked for in the game but it could be useful and fun to play with in certain scenarios.

I do have my doubts though cause I feel like if this was going to be a thing in any of their games, it would have been introduced in RDR.

Duuude... I am going to have to try this! I didn't know someone was actually working on a mod for this. I mentioned how cool it would be to use this for hunting like 3 years ago. This looks fresh too, he posted the vid 2 weeks ago.

And I would love to see more stealth like this in GTA for sure!!

The thought of proning during hunting missions, especially legendary hunting missions, would have been so cool. I am certain it will be added and will bring some depth to GTA 6's stealth missions and I am just going to rule it off as not being added to RDR2 as it was the "testing" grounds for their engine. Fun fact: The engine used in RDR2 was originally planned for GTA 6.

I remember reading about this and was blown away. Cause you can see what massive improvements they made with so much going from GTA 5 to RDR2. I mean that game holds up and is still one of the best looking games even in 2024. I would say it is number 1 for me.

I think that GTA 6 is going to look even better and likely be far ahead of other games again in terms of realism, movements, and mechanics thanks to their investment in insane engines.

Interesting. I never heard of this mod before but whoever worked on it, it looks like a legit game mechanic! They did a great job. Especially crawling in the snow looks insanely good.

I think this honestly should have been in GTA 5, it would have made so much sense but if they do intend on it being in the next game, this is all around great news because it implies we will have even more options for stealth. Love it.

It does seem like it was meant to be in that game. That is all I know. Let me know if you try the mod out and how it is. I am curious.

Going to try it this weekend. Have to download the game again. I switched PCs since I last played RDR2. I will let you know!

Oh absolutely, to this day, I haven't seen a single game that comes close to what RDR2 managed to achieve. And to think GTA 6 is going to build off of that engine and improve upon it? Wild!

I still laugh at the people who think Starfield is the best looking game to date. I know when they say this, they never played RDR2. The only one that comes close to it is Cyberpunk but you really have to crank up the settings and run it on a solid built PC to get it looking pretty. Shaders and stuff make a massive difference too.

The heists would be insane. This adds more realism to it too. I really do hope this is something they are adding.

It would be used for so much. It would be better than just "walking around slowly hunched over".

Cyberpunk is a good looking game, way better looking than Starfield but still RDR2 was more impressive in terms of graphics for me.

I agree. Cyberpunk is visually and aesthetically so pleasing. I can't remember the number of times I've replayed that game. More recently, I started another playthrough cause of their latest major update!

I am all for this mechanic. It will have many different uses. I am guessing this is not confirmed yet but it seems likely. It is one mechanic we have not seen but should have seen in their games by now.

A lot of people feel this way when it is pointed out, especially since GTA introduced heists that involve stealth.

I am really hoping this is the case and it is in the game. I wouldn't mind seeing other new mechanics as well. This is going to be Rockstar's biggest title yet. I want it to be an absolute banger.
