What are the best ways you have found to evade the police?

I have been trying to get this down to a science on all star levels. Obviously 1 and 2 stars is not a big deal but 3, 4, and especially 5 pose problems. What are the best ways you have found to actually evade the police that work most of the time? I am wondering if there are specific vehicles, locations, etc. that people can use to make evading them easier. This can be for on or offline.
 
I mean outside of calling Lester and just generally wanting to evade them yourself, I would say going underground is probably the best route to take. I found underpasses useful to. Certain ones have great corners that even choppers struggle to spot you under.
 
I like to go off road. In most cases, this can work but it depends on what you are driving. You can also help them have a harder time finding you if you switch vehicles. I think the AI is set up to do this to make it more realistic but a cop can't actually see you swapping for this to work.

Underground is a great choice. I was going to mention going on water but it can actually make things harder for a lot of people. Like I am not great at driving on the sea myself. I tend to get taken out by the chopper even if I try to hide under the Pier lol
 
I tend to just drive where I have to to lose them. I think I have only gotten 5 stars once. It seems very hard to get it unless I am just doing something wrong. lol

No it is made hard on purpose. I spent a good 10 min targeting cops and stuff before I got 5 stars. I mean 4 stars is hard enough. 5 is just insane!

I looked into it after posting that.

It seems that you need to target helicopters when you get 4 stars. So if you take a few of those out, it should give 5 stars. I am going to test this later.

Oh nice! I am going to try this tonight. Thanks for letting me know. I didn't think you had to target those to get more stars but I guess it makes sense. This would explain why I was struggling so much.
 
The best place for me has been the sewage tunnel by the Diamond Casino resort. No matter how many stars you have, you always evade them, sitting in there for a min or two!

Can confirm. I actually like to start drama out on the freeway in front of the casino and then head there. It is the only safe zone that has been reliable if you want to avoid dying from a 5 star onslaught lol
 
I never thought to go to the casino sewage tunnel to evade them. A lot of times I am being targeted on the other side of the map but I will keep this in mind if I ever want to get away from them and am close enough to mange it.

Absolutely, extremely handy even when escaping during the Diamond Casino heist!
 
The best way to evade the police is to never do anything to get the police on you. lol

For real though, there are a lot of smaller spaces on the map where you can duck out of the way of the chopper. That tends to cause the most issues with losing the cops when you reach that level. The cars are just annoying.

But this is a game of crime and that is certainly not very fun. There are days I go online just to battle the police. It is fun! Not something I would ever do IRL.

I would sure hope not. You don't want to play into the whole "video games cause violence" narrative! But you are right, that does suck a lot of fun out of the game.

One of my favorite things to do is get NPCs involved, or at least try to so the cops go after them too. lol

Sometimes other players will get caught in the crossfire and it just becomes a giant mess though.
