GTA 5 Cheats Overview

GTA 5 cheat codes unlock all weapons, let you change your wanted level up or down, and give you all kinds of other power-ups in the game like invincibility, flaming ammo, and super jump.

To use GTA V cheats on PS4, PS3 or PS5 (any PlayStation console) enter them using your controller, or by dialling the numbers listed into your in-game cellphone. Just make sure you press the button combo relatively quickly, so that it registers and the game recognizes it as a cheat code. You must use the digital pad (d-pad) for any directions, as opposed to the analog sticks on your controller.

Using any cheats in GTA 5 will disable Trophies for the rest of your session, so always save your game first.

If you’re wondering why there’s no money cheat, there’s a very good reason for that: it would ruin the game’s stock market feature. The cheats also only work in GTA 5’s story mode and they will not get you banned.

Overview: GTA 5 Cheats For Xbox

To enable GTA 5 cheats on all Xbox platforms – the Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, or Xbox 360 – all you need is the right button sequence, or you can use the in-game smartphone feature (Xbox One and Series X|S only). If you choose to use the button combos, just make sure you press the buttons relatively quickly and use the d-pad, not the analog sticks, for directions.

Refer to our cheats list below and soon you’ll be activating unlimited health, spawning vehicles, accessing all the weapons, and other power-ups. Just remember to save your game before you use the cheats, since once you use them, you won’t be able to earn any Achievements.

Intro

GTA 5 cheats on PC are activated by typing in the codes on your keyboard. You simply need to press the tilde (~) key (Shift + `), which will bring up in the in-game console, similar to a development menu. Then, just type in one of the cheat codes from below and press enter.

The cheats let you become invincible, spawn vehicles, access all the weapons, and basically do whatever you want. However, you must always save your game before using them, as once you have activated cheats, then you won’t be able to earn Achievements for the rest of your session. So, you need a save game you can return to, without cheats enabled.

If you’d like to see a demo video of any cheat just click it’s title and, if you’re looking for a money cheat, there isn’t one. That would mess up the in-game stock market mechanics.

    Makes it very hard to drive, run, and even walk.

  • Fast Run: CATCHME
    Like the cheat name says, makes you run faster.

  • Fast Swim: GOTGILLS
    Your swimming speed is greatly increased.

  • Recharge Ability: POWERUP
    The special ability of your current character is fully recharged and ready for use.

  • Skyfall: SKYFALL
    Will transport you instantly into mid-air, doing a skydive, and with no way to use a parachute.

    You can jump much higher than usual. Hold the jump button (SPACEBAR) to do even bigger jumps.

Cheats Overview

You can use the cell phone cheats in GTA 5 to unlock vehicles and weapons, become invincible, lower your wanted level and much more.

To activate the cheats, bring out your phone by pressing UP on the d-pad (on consoles), or “T” or BACKSPACE on PC. Then, go to your contacts list and then press X on Xbox, SQUARE on PlayStation, or SPACEBAR or MIDDLEMOUSEBUTTON on PC. This will bring up the dial pad.

Then enter the phone number that corresponds to the cheat you wish to activate from the list below (or, if you want to use the cheat you last entered, just press * on the dial pad, which is the redial button). Just make sure that you save your game progress before using the cheats as activating them will block Achievements. Also, don’t bother looking for a money cheat because there isn’t one, it would make the game’s stock market feature pointless.

With any game as popular as GTA 5, it’s inevitable that people will start looking for ways to have all the cars, gear and loot as quickly as possible.

      Most previous games in the Grand Theft Auto series include some kind of money cheat that gives your character an instant cash bonus, and which you can then use to easily buy anything in the game. GTA 5 has plenty of things to purchase – cars, weapons, properties, upgrades, clothes, businesses – and GTA Online increases that by orders of magnitude thanks to its extensive DLC. There’s also a ton of single player cheats – but is there one for money?

      GTA 5 Money Cheat Code

      All 3D-era GTA games prior to Grand Theft Auto 5 had some kind of cheat code that you could use to receive large sums of in-game money instantly. So it’s logical to assume that the latest game in the series, GTA 5, would share this feature – however, that is not the case. While GTA 5 features an extensive list of cheats for all sorts of other things, none of them let you add money.

      There is no money cheat code in GTA 5.

      However, we do have plenty of ways for you to make easy in-game money. You can also use the briefcase tactic to repeatedly earn money, as demonstrated in the video below.

      The reasoning behind there being no unlimited money cheat in GTA 5 story mode is simple. The simulated stock market in GTA 5 is connected across all instances of the game in order to make it feel a little bit more like a real stock market. Each player affects the market and all other players will see stock prices rise and fall accordingly. If players had access to unlimited cash, it would make this feature meaningless. However, we have an excellent resource to help you earn millions of $GTA from the stock market regardless.

      Players who use cheats to add large sums of money would be able to affect stock prices for non-cheating players as well, and Rockstar can’t have that. It would skew the balance and negatively impact the game experience of players who don’t want to resort to using cheats.

      However, the stock market is also the solution to the money problems you might have in story mode. If you play your cards right, all three protagonists will be walking around with millions. Basically, you need to leave Lester’s assassination missions until the very end of your playthrough, giving you the largest sum of GTA$ to be invested in stocks and in turn producing the largest payout.

      In single player there are GTA 5 cheats for pretty much everything, from making yourself invincible to maxing out your health and armour, but there isn’t one that’ll give you an infinite bank balance.

      GTA Online Money Cheat Code

      There is no unlimited money cheat code, or any cheats at all for that matter, in GTA Online.

      Since GTA Online players are in the game together, using cheats would completely ruin the balance and gameplay for everyone involved. Additionally, Rockstar sells Shark Cards, which allow players to spend real money in exchange for in-game currency – if a money cheat was possible, nobody would buy Shark Cards, would they?

      None of the single player cheat codes work either. There was a time when it was possible to purchase “mod menus” from shady developers that let you “hack” in GTA Online, but doing so will land you a permanent account ban. Take-Two has been diligently hunting down mod menu developers and shutting them down these past few years. Other than grinding or buying Shark Cards, there is no quick and easy way to big bucks.

      That said, GTA Online is filled to the brim with ways to make cash and we’ve put together multiple guides that pull together the best and quickest methods to make GTA$ in GTA Online.

      Given it’s small size and light weight, the Buzzard is also incredibly manoeuvrable – you should be able to navigate between buildings, power lines and other obstacles with ease. So if you need a chopper, spawn the Buzzard!
