New Name Takes Lead on GTA 6 Voice Actor Speculation

A sliver of evidence - swiftly removed since - indicates that Gregory Joseph Connors might play Jason in GTA 6.

It’s pretty much been radio silence from Rockstar Games regarding Grand Theft Auto 6 ever since that first announcement and trailer dropped, with fandom speculation running wild.

Alongside the most hotly debated topic, the game’s elusive release date, one of the main fixations of fans is the identities of the main cast. Now, new leads point to a candidate for the male protagonist, Jason.

This is coming hot on the heels of Troy Baker confirming that he is not the voice actor bringing Jason, one of the two playable protagonists of GTA 6, to life. That nailed shut the coffin of one of the more prevalent fan theories regarding the actor’s identity, which had gained traction despite Rockstar’s track record of avoiding big-ticket talent.

The latest development stays in line with that track record, which just adds to the plausibility.

Eagle eyed sleuths have found out that Gregory Joseph Connors landed a lead role in an upcoming Rockstar Games production, according to his resume (since removed). Specifically, the entry referred to a title slated for a 2025 release, which lines up with GTA 6 – and nothing else.

What else could possibly be launching in 2025 from Rockstar?

Adding credence to the theory is the fact that after this discovery started making the rounds among fans, Connors subsequently edited the resume to remove any reference to his involvement in a Rockstar project.

While its almost certain at this stage that Connors is attached to GTA 6, not having anything to go on beyond the incredibly vague “lead” descriptor of his role does make this theory less iron clad. While Connors does seem to fit the physical appearance of Jason fairly well, there’s also a chance he’s playing a different lead role – like a villain.

Connors is an established actor who has appeared in various films and TV shows, as well as on stage, with a robust voice demo showing broad range. This hits Rockstar’s sweet spot – Connors isn’t a massively famous household name, but has worked on more than enough material to prove his chops.

Any kind of official word is still far out, but fans are fairly confident they’ve nailed Gregory Connors and Manni L. Perez as the leading faces of a new generation of GTA, playing Jason and Lucia. We’d still be prepared for some unexpected curveballs though, as nothing can be certain until we get it from Rockstar themselves!

GTA 6 is still slated for launch sometime in 2025.

I mean he looks sort of similar but not really. I would have to see him without a beard. I know not all voice actors have to look like the people they are voicing but that tends to be what they go for from what I have seen.

This can be something that was old and he could have been considered but never officially hired. Who really knows. I am on the fence with this one cause it does seem strange that it was there and then removed and no other game is coming out in 2025 for Rockstar.

Okay guys. I am going to have to confess something. It is me. I am the voice actor for Jason. Now everyone can stop obsessing over this.

(For real though, at this point I do not understand the obsession. lol)

This is probably the closest anyone has come to figuring out because it seems sus for him to have had this and deleted it.

I wish they would just tell people already so the hunt would stop. Maybe have the people make their socials private prior to announcing though just to prevent harassment cause you know some people will not leave them alone with questions about the game.
