I completely forgot this was an option. I had been doing it the other way. This is way easier if you are in game and want to make adjustments and change cheats without having to mess with the menu.

Using the phone is better for most cheats imo.

I do wonder why they don't work with PS3/Xbox360 though considering the game came out on there. Was this added after the fact? I could have sworn using the phone for cheats was always a thing.

I think some work and some don't but it also depends on if your game got updated or not. Like my older console has been offline for a long while and I know last time I let a friend borrow it, to play GTA offline, the cheats worked fine for him using the cell phone but I don't know which ones he was using.

Truth. Having a secondary menu through the phone is nice. It still functions as a phone should but being able to dial up codes is great.
