The Gangbanger Robbery with Bonus Challenges Guide

Full guide on how to do The Gangbanger Robbery with all the bonus challenges as part The Chop Shop.

Welcome to our guide on completing The Gangbanger Robbery in The Chop Shop DLC. This new robbery mission tasks players with breaking into the Mission Row Police Station to free King Tiny and steal a valuable Gran Turismo Ommaggio. In this guide, we’ll walk you through each step of the robbery, from the initial scope out and preparatory missions to the final jailbreak and vehicle theft. We’ll also provide tips on completing all the bonus challenges to maximize your cash rewards.

You can start these robberies once you purchase the Salvage Yard business in GTA Online. You can only do three robberies per week. Once you’ve completed all three robberies, you must wait a week before doing them again.

Each robbery also has a set of bonus challenges, with each one rewarding players with $10,000, as well as an additional $20,000 for completing all three bonus challenges. In total, players can earn $50,000 for the completion of bonus challenges ($10K + $10K + $10K + $20K).

Scope Out: Mission Row Police Station

You can start the scope out mission by accessing the computer from the Salvage Yard.

The scope out mission is the first thing you will have on your planning screen.

In this scope out mission, you are directed to go to the Mission Row Police Station and take pictures of three different points of interest.

Elevated vantage point.

When you get to the vantage point, get on an elevated surface where the ventilation unit is so you can have a better look at the points of interest you need to capture.

Point of Interest 1

The first point of interest is the police chopper on your left. Zoom into it and take a picture.

Police Maverick point of interest.

If you’ve taken the picture correctly, you will get an option to send it to Jamal. Do that, and it will be registered as your first point of interest.

Point of Interest 2

The second point of interest is the ventilation unit you see on the rooftop of the Mission Row Police Station. You can see a small blue arrow indicating what you need to take a picture of.

However, the ventilation unit on the right won’t be registered as you’re too far away from it. To take a picture, you need to get closer.

Jump down and go to the second ventilation unit of the rooftop you’re currently on (the vantage point).

Stand by the ventilation unit and then take a picture of the ventilation unit on top of the police station. You don’t have to take it from an angle above it.

Taking a picture from slightly below also registers it.

Point of Interest 3

The third point of interest is the rear exit. Go to the Mission Row bridge and look down towards the rear exit.

Take a picture of the rear exit from the bridge and send it to Jamal.

Return to the Salvage Yard to complete this scope out mission.

Tasks

Tasks are mandatory preparatory missions that you must complete in order for your robbery to go through. You also get some optional tasks, but you can skip those if you’re not interested in them, as they have little to no effect on your robbery.

The tasks are found on the map in your free roam lobby. A green duffle bag indicates them.

You can complete them in any order.

You will see a green highlighted circle when you get to the task location.

Walk up to the circle and interact with it to call Jamal to start the task.

Task 1: Getaway Vehicle

Once you’ve carried out the jailbreak, which is the first part of the robbery, you need a getaway vehicle to escape the cops and deliver King Tiny to Los Santos International Airport.

Although we have a trick where you won’t even use this vehicle, it is a mandatory mission and must be completed to proceed with the robbery. We will get to the trick later. It is optional, but it will make your life much easier.

For the getaway vehicle, when you start the mission, you will be asked to break into a garage and steal the vehicle.

Breaking into the garage.

When you’re inside the garage, eliminate all the enemies. Take cover by the boxes or the toolbox and start shooting.

Eliminating all the gang members inside the garage.

Once you’ve taken them all out, you can choose the vehicle you’d like as your getaway vehicle. There are multiple options to choose from, and it doesn’t really matter which vehicle you choose.

Go with the one you personally like.

As stated before, choosing a vehicle for us is not an issue as we won’t use it during the jailbreak. However, we selected the Annis 300R sports car.

When you’re in your getaway vehicle, exit the garage and drive it to one of the three marked locations on the map.

You will find some enemies trying to chase you. You can ignore them as long as you focus on driving to one of the three marked locations.

You can choose any of the locations as all of them are near the station.

However, this spot is the best as it is directly next to the rear exit, where you will come out during the jailbreak.

Ultimately, if you want to use this vehicle as a getaway vehicle, this is the best spot to stash it.

But if you go with our method of not using it, it doesn’t matter which location you stash it in.

Once you’ve stashed the vehicle, leave the area to complete this task.

Task completed.

Task 2: Weapon Stash

In this task, you need to head inside an Ammu-Nation and look for a duffle bag with some weapons.

They can be anywhere inside the Ammu-Nation but are quite easy to find.

The unmarked weapons will be indicated on your minimap when you get close enough.

Green duffle bag with the unmarked weapons.

Collect the weapon stash and go to the police station to stash them there.

You’re required to stash it under a dumpster next to the rear exit door.

When you go through the automatic sliding door, you will see a suspicion bar at the bottom-right corner of your screen.

Suspicion bar.

You need to be quick about it. Quickly get to the dumpster, stash the weapons, and leave the place.

If the bar is full, you will get a wanted level, and the cops will be after you.

Once stashed, leave the area to complete this task.

Task completed.

Task 3: Stun Guns

One of the bonus challenges of this robbery is to ensure you don’t kill any cops. And that is done by incapacitating the cops using stun guns.

When you start this task, you must search a parking lot for a security vehicle.

Although Jamal will send you the number plate, so far, only one security vehicle spawns, and it has a big “Patrol” sticker on the side of it.

It is hard to miss the vehicle. You need to search the yellow highlighted area for this “Patrol” vehicle.

Once located, go to the trunk of the car and open it up to get the stun guns.

Deliver the stun guns to your Salvage Yard to complete this task.

You will get some resistance, so make sure you’re ready to make a run for it as soon as you grab the stun guns.

Task 4: Masks (Optional)

The masks play little to no role in this robbery and are completely optional.

If you’d like to skip this part to save some time, feel free to do so.

Essentially, all you need to do is to go to the mask shop at Vespucci Beach and purchase any mask set for this robbery to complete this task.

Any set would work.

Planning Work

Planning work is the main preparatory mission you must complete to proceed with the robbery. Similar to the tasks, you get one or two mandatory planning works and an optional one that will make the overall robbery easier for you.

You can start the planning work missions by accessing the computer at your Salvage Yard.

Planning Work 1: Police Maverick

In this mission, you need to steal a Police Maverick to sneak into the Mission Row Police Station. You can get a random location for this mission. But the concept is the same.

We got St Fiacre Hospital. But to find the location with the Police Maverick, you must go to the Weazel News Building first.

When you get to the Weazel News Building, you need to hack a signal box outside the building.

The signal box will automatically be marked on your minimap when you reach the destination.

Hacking the signal box is the same as you’ve done during the Cayo Perico heist and many others. You need to link the numbers on the left to the symbols on the right to get the target number at the top.

But linking the numbers to the symbol isn’t random. There is actually an easy way to solve this. You’re basically multiplying the numbers. Each symbol represents a multiple. Remember the following:

  • ‘φ’ multiplies by 1
  • ‘≠’ muliplies by 2
  • ‘x’ multiplies by 10
In this case, to get a sum of 10 (target number) we do 2 x φ = 2, 2 x φ = 2, and 3 x ≠ = 6. So, 2+2+6 = 10.

Once you’ve successfully hacked the signal box, you will get one of the locations where you can steal the Police Maverick from.

As mentioned earlier, we got St Fiacre Hospital.

When you get to the hospital, you need to park slightly awake from the destination. For some reason, the cops easily detect you when you get close enough with a vehicle.

At the location, look for a white dot on your minimap. This is usually the access point you need to get to the rooftops.

Be careful of the security cams as well. Watch out for their cones of vision. Avoid them and continue going up. The pathway to the top is linear, so you don’t have to worry about navigating too much. Just avoid the cops as you go up.

However, a much faster way would be to land on top of the rooftops next to the Maverick and steal it. But that is if you’re landing on the rooftops directly.

If you try to reach the Maverick while already detected by the cops from the get-go, it will be very difficult as the cops are really aggressive. You will keep dying before you can reach the Maverick.

Keep making your way up to the Maverick while avoiding the cones of visions of the guards and the security cameras.

Whenever you’re climbing ladders, keep an eye out on your minimap to keep track of the cones of vision of the security cameras.

Security camera right after you climb up the ladder.

Speaking specifically about St Fiacre Hsopital, stick to the right side of the rooftops and continue moving forward.

This is an easier route.

You will eventually reach a final set of ladders to your left with some cops and another security camera to your right.

Wait for the camera to look away, then climb the ladder on your left.

As soon as you get inside the Maverick, you will get a 3-star wanted level.

However, since you’re already flying, it is easier to lose the cops.

Fly high into the air and avoid the cops until you’ve lost them.

After that, fly to the marked location and leave the area to complete this mission.

Planning Work 2: Tactical Gear

In this planning work, you must steal a riot van containing tactical gear. The riot van is in a lockup, surrounded by a lot of enemies.

The planning work can be started from the computer at the Salvage Yard.

First, take out all the enemies outside when you get to the location. If you have an Oppressor Mark II, you can quickly take them out using your homing missiles.

If you don’t have it, your free CEO vehicle, Buzzard, can do the job.

If you have an Armored Kuruma, that can also keep you safe while you take the enemies out.

The location of the lockup is random, but the whole sequence and the mission are exactly the same.

When you enter the lockup, take the stairs to the lowest level and you will find more enemies guarding several riot vans. You need to check each one of them for tactical gear.

First, take care of the enemies inside and then check the riot vans by opening up the back.

If the riot van has tactical gear, it will have metallic securing. The one without the tactical gear will be empty with nothing in it.

Deliver the riot van to your Salvage Yard to complete the mission.

You will have enemies following you, but you can ignore them as the riot van is quite tanky and has good protection.

Planning Work 3: Disrupt Equipment (Optional)

This optional mission can help make the final robbery mission easier. It is a timed mission, so we recommend using either an Oppressor Mark II or a Buzzard.

You only get a total of 10 minutes for the complete mission.

Completing this mission will essentially decrease the number of police officers inside the police station during a robbery.

First, you need to make your way to the LSPD lockup and destroy the first set of equipment. When you get to the lockup, you will find some cops outside.

Take them out and head inside.

Take out the cops inside and use explosives (such as a sticky bomb, grenades, or an RPG) to destroy the LSPD equipment.

You will find three more cops inside the lockup.
Planting the sticky bomb on the LSPD equipment.

Once destroyed, you need to find the location of the rest of the equipment. You can do this by looking for a clipboard inside the lockup.

It is either a clipboard or a black folder, usually on one of the office desks or tables around the area.

After getting the list, you should still have around 7-8 minutes to get to the rest of the equipment. There are three more locations where you must destroy the LSPD equipment.

You can easily destroy them all if you have an Oppressor Mark II or a Buzzard.

The Gangbanger Robbery

Now that we’re done with the preparation, we can proceed with the robbery or the finale. Go to your computer at the Salvage Yard, and you will now have the option to ‘Start Robbery.’

First, go to where you’ve parked your Police Maverick and get into it.

Parked Police Maverick.

Fly to the Mission Row Police Station and land on the rooftops.

Landing the Maverick on top of the Mission Row Police Station.

When you’re here, quickly take out the cop on the rooftop using your stun gun.

Remember, do not use lethal weapons, or the bonus challenge to complete the mission without killing any cops will be void.

After that, climb on top of the ventilation units and throw gas grenades through the vents.

It is easier to aim directly down at the vents and throw the gas grenade.
There are four in total, and each of them is marked on the minimap for you.

You can also see a green arrow indicator on top of them. Once you’ve thrown the gas grenade through all four of the vents, you will get a cutscene of a cop coming out of the police station through the rooftop door and passing out.

Cop coming out of the police station.

Go through the door and take the stairs to the lowest level. When you get inside the police station’s main lobby, you need to look for cell keys.

Going to the lowest level of the police station.
Ground floor of the police station.

The cell keys can be in several different places and are random every time you play this mission.

We found the cell keys on a bench inside the locker room.

The locker room is to the left as soon as you go through the door at the lower level.

You can also find it on the desk inside the Captain’s Office and sometimes on the reception desk.

Once you’ve acquired the cell keys, go through the double doors on the left and head down the stairs to the basement.

Double doors leading to the stairs.

You will find one or more police officers (depending on whether you completed the optional disruption mission) and continue moving forward and you will come across a computer next to a locked jail cell security door.

Hack the computer to unlock the security door leading to the jail cells.
You will get the good ol’ matching letters mini-game.
Unlocked door.

Once you’re through the door, look behind you as some more cops will show up.

More cops showing up behind you as you approach King Tiny’s cell.

Take them out and then use the cell keys to unlock King Tiny’s cell.

You must protect King Tiny and ensure his health does not fall below 75%, as it is one of the bonus challenges.

Wait for King Tiny to unlock the door ahead and continue moving towards the rear exit.

Two more cops will show up. Remember, you must stun them.

Head outside through the door and collect your stashed weapons.

Do not use those weapons to kill any cops. You still need to use stun guns to complete the bonus challenge.

After collecting the weapon stash, destroy the control panel by the sliding door.

Sliding door control panel.

Then, head back inside the station. Go deeper and stay there until you’ve lost the wanted level. Yup, that’s right. You don’t have to run around the city to lose the cops.

Just head right back inside to lose the cops. Talk about irony!

Once you’ve lost the cops, head outside through the rear exit and turn left.

You can see the getaway vehicle on your mini map.

You will find your getaway vehicle stashed not too far away. You can use it to take King Tiny to LSIA.

However, you can use your CEO ability to call in a Buzzard and fly King Tiny to LSIA for a faster mode of transport.

Remember to enter the yellow highlighted area on foot with King Tiny to successfully deliver him to the rendezvous point.

Now, you will have the location of the gang hideout with the main target of this robbery: the Gran Turismo Ommaggio.

Make your way to the gang hideout, which is also a random location every time you do this mission. However, the main mission structure is always the same.

You will find that the Turismo Omaggio is heavily guarded by many gang members. Take them all out.

Once you find a window, get inside the vehicle and drive off.

Some gang members will continue to chase after you. Ignore them.

Selling the Vehicle

After the robbery’s completion, you can either sell the vehicle to Yusuf or salvage it for quick cash. If you salvage it, you will get less amount (20% decreased value).

The vehicle will now be in the Salvage Yard garage for you to decide its fate.

But if you sell it to Yusuf, you must drive the vehicle to the port. Similar to how you deliver the Simeon vehicles. You get the maximum cash for selling it to Yusuf.

Be careful not to hit the car anywhere as you drive it to the port.

The total payment value goes down with each hit.

Cash Reward

  • Selling to Yusuf: $395,000
  • Salvaging Parts: $316,000
